Asda To Sell Mobility Aids

The UK’s second largest supermarket chain Asda has announced that it will begin selling disability aids this week.
It is the first supermarket to make such a step, in what the retailer describes as an attempt to “break the taboos” surrounding disability. The new range of 15 products has been designed in collaboration with Mobilease and will include items such as a collapsible wheelchair and fold-up walking sticks.
Spokesman for Mobilease Dermot McLaughlin said; "The most important thing is that having Mobilease available in Asda will gradually change people's perception of disability and eradicate the unnecessary stigma that has surrounded mobility products.”
The new range of products will initially be available in 75 Asda stores, with plans to roll out to all 350 stores if proven successful.
